Equine Sports Massage Therapy from Plum Grove Therapeutic MassageMuch like Equine Massage Therapy, Equine Sports Massage Therapy is the therapeutic application of hands on massage techniques used to increase circulation, relax muscle spasms, relieve tension, enhance muscle tone, and increase range of motion in high performance horses. The primary purpose of Equine Sports Massage Therapy is performance enhancement. As an apprentice under Jo-Ann Wilson, of Wilson & Meagher Sports Therapy, Cindy earned her certification in the Jack Meagher Method of Equine Sportsmassage®. One of the few massage therapy modalities in the world with a scientific foundation, the Meagher Method is an anatomically accurate and specific series of techniques that induce a significant increase in range of motion and in muscle tissue. In the mid 1950’s Jack Meagher, a pioneer in the field of Experts believe that Equine Sports Massage Therapy can enhance competitive performance by as much as 30%. In fact, both Jack Meagher and Jo-Ann Wilson have separately used the Meagher Method to help the United States Equestrian Team win gold in Olympic Games. Using the renowned Meagher Method of Equine Sportsmassage®, Cindy works with show and companion horses to prevent injury and improve performance.
